PUSH HANDS WORKSHOP with Master Su Zifang and Master Zhao Yun

We are very excited to announce that our 1st Yi Shui Push Hands Workshop will be held in September 2011 in Hawthorne California. This workshop aims to introduce Push Hands to experienced Taiji Quan practitioners who has none or little experience of doing it.

After reviewing feedback from our previous "Thirteen Principles" seminars, we have decided Push Hands to be our next topic. Below are the details of this workshop.

Why Push Hand?
Grandmaster Sha Guozheng used to say "Push Hands is a good way to examine our Taiji Quan quality". If we use language study in comparison, learning the Thirteen Principles of Taiji Quan is like studying characters and grammar; practicing Push Hands is like constructing sentences. To check our standards, get to know Taiji Quan applications and train our skills, Push Hands is a good tool and an important step.

What's included?
This workshop will have 3 classes, and each one will be held on one Saturday afternoon for 4 hours. Master Su will teach us a total of 12 basic practice routines including single hand and double hands basics, fixed-step (static) and moving-step (dynamic) practices, as well as the "Thirteen Principles". These routines are common entry-level practices and have been widely promoted in China by Chinese Martial Arts Association.
